Vintage | Jacques Esterel Paris Windowpane Skirt Suit

This Creation Jacques Esterel Paris two-piece skirt suit is an exceptional piece of French fashion history! Known as a highly inventive Parisian couturier, famous for designing Brigitte Bardot’s wedding dress (and unleashing thereafter the gingham tidal wave), Jacques Esterel's fashion house carried on his legacy of accessible, structural luxury into this era. This timeless coordinated set, circa mid 1970s to the late 1970s, features a light beige lightweight pure new wool fabric accented with a minimalist black grid/windowpane check pattern. The black grid lines are actually embroidered/stitched into the fabric, not just printed on top, showing a high level of mid-century craftsmanship. The blazer features soft shoulder pads, classic collar and lapels, a built-in casing with a self-tie fabric belt that flares into a subtle peplum shape, and a patch pocket on the upper left chest.  The midi-length skirt features a placket with button-front closure and a single accent button at the center waist, soft pleating, waistband and belt loops, and side-entry pockets integrated into the side seams.
