Crooks & Castles x Asif's Guns - Limited Edition Shirt (Unisex) - Sz S - created for a 2012 Miami Art Basel installation and pop-up shop Crooks and Castles in collaboration with Primary Projects created Asif’s Guns, a cardboard-gun pop-up shop and installation, meticulously crafted for Miami’s Art Basel week 2012. The installation challenged gun culture and iconography and featured this limited edition "Guns" T-shirt Asif Farooq – the chief architect behind Asif’s Guns – created a 400 sq. ft. pop-up shop in the Wynwood Arts District, showcasing over 300 of Farooq’s cardboard gun replicas. The shop was built to resemble an actual gun store, where each model was reproduced with accuracy and detailed parts. “My guns are confessional; if a gift doesn’t hurt to give, then it isn’t much of a gift at all,” states the artist, who creates these objects of destruction as a private portrait and testament to his fallen brother.
