This antique watch is made of 14k yellow gold and, based on the serial number in the case, dates to between 1918 and 1925. The watch is a manual wind and though it hasn't been serviced recently, it winds easily and runs for about 36 hours on a single wind. The interior back of the case has several marks including "SWISS MADE" near the gears (pic 10), and markings on the metal side: "14K", "0.585", "89112" (case serial number), and a mark that looks like a squirrel sitting on 3 balls. The face of the watch has a very detailed center and has 2 blue heat-treated (thermal blued) hands. There is some discolouration between the numbers 8 and 9, which I've left untouched. The back of the case has the initials "LW" engraved (maybe LM?) in a beautiful script. The cloth band has some fraying near the ends of each strand (zoom in to pic 2 to see the most accurate representation of this). The clasp is a fold-over clasp in a gold tone metal, but I'm not sure that it's also gold. The watch includes what you see in pic 2 - a professional appraisal in a little hard-cover booklet. I will also ship it in a nice little box to keep it safe. This piece is perfect for a collector who has an appreciation for antique Swiss-made watches and small details. Case dimensions: 32x26mm Movement: manual wind (swiss-made) Weight: 15.19g (rounded to 15.2g in appraisal) Appraised by Shelemay Jewellery Appraisals Ltd. in Toronto, Ontario If you have any questions, please let me know!
