I picked up this beautiful Naja style necklace at the estate sale of Roger Zelazny’s wife. Roger is a famous science fiction author very popular in the 1970s-90’s, and this estate sale had treasures from all over the world and many pieces of jewelry, including native American pieces. The necklace features sterling silver hand formed buffalo claws surrounding a central oval turquoise stone from either the Royston or Cerillos mine. I’m thinking this is the Cerrillos mine because it is very near to Santa Fe. The other beads present are turquoise nuggets and handmade bench beads aka Navajo pearl silver beads. The closure is via hook and loop, common in the mid 20th century. This is an unsigned piece. Length: 17”
