Add a touch of industrial history and mid-century style to your home bar or office with this rare vintage DuPont Canada coaster set.
Issued as a safety award for the Kingston, Ontario site, this set features a striking corporate look that is perfect for collectors of petroliana, industrial memorabilia, or unique vintage barware.
The DuPont plant in Kingston, Ontario (opened in 1942) was a massive milestone for Canadian industry. It was famously known as the first nylon manufacturing plant in Canada, built to supply nylon for Allied parachutes during World War II. Over the decades, it became a massive hub for synthetic fibers and engineering plastics.
Based on the font of the classic oval DuPont logo and the geometric shape, this set likely dates from the 1970s to the 1980s. During this era, high-end desk and bar accessories like brass-rimmed leather coasters, pen sets, and paperweights were the premium standard for employee recognition.
Premium Materials: Heavy, gold-toned metal borders (likely brass or brass-plated) with a textured hunter-green leather or faux leather (pleather) inlay.
Good vintage condition with a beautiful natural patina on the metal. Please note, there is a slight, minor nick on the wooden display base and one coaster has some slight fading to the stamped font. Please see all photos for close-up details of the vintage character.
Measurements as shown in photos are approx.
