This is a beautifully preserved copy of "In Defense of Women" by William Cynwal, published in 1960 by the legendary Golden Cockerel Press. This book is copy 378 from a highly collectible, strictly limited print run of only 500 numbered copies. This edition features a 16th century Welsh poem translated into English by Gwenn Williams, acting as a historical reply to the satire "Against Women." The volume was designed by Christopher Sanford and printed by the Chiswick Press using Eric Gill's renowned Golden Cockerel typeface on fine mould-made paper. The original dark blue cloth binding is clean and sharp, featuring brilliant, unrubbed gilt illustrations on the cover and spine. Inside, the heavy mould-made paper is crisp and completely free of foxing, toning or previous owner markings. The striking color wood engravings by John Petts remain sharp with vibrant saturated inks. See photos for detail and measurements
