UNIQUE M Choquette Art Peice - MCM Vintage 15" Electric Lamp

Marcel Choquette (1913-1971) is a self-taught ceramicist, sculptor, and painter highly recognized within Quebec’s art community. We can find very few of his art peices in museums, so this whimsical 1950s EAGLE electric lamp, with its original fiberglass shade, is a RARE FIND !! Its plaster base is shaped like a black tree with orange leaves, in which a cream-colored bird is nesting. Fully functionnal, this kitshy piece is sure to delight woodland decor enthusiasts as well as art collectors. Approx. 10.5" high x 6.5" wide x 5.5" deep. Approx. 15" high with shade. Wire approx. 59" long. This lamp shows wear due to age, witch in no way affects its beauty. The plaster base has a few chips, some of which have been touched up in black paint. The socket is loose but stays in place when pushed all the way into the base. The lampshade is slightly dented has minor scratches. The metal clip that secures it to the light bulb is slightly rusted (see four last photos). The leaves and the shade's orange colour may not be the orignal paint.
