Original antique British patent specification plate illustrating the design and mechanical operation of the famous Adams percussion revolver.
This detailed engineering plate is identified as:
"Adams Specification"
Sheet 4 (of 4 Sheets)
and bears the printer's imprint:
"London: Printed by George Edward Eyre and William Spottiswoode, Printers to the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, 1854."
The plate features finely executed technical drawings, sectional views, cylinder details, lockwork components, and engineering diagrams associated with the Adams revolver patent specifications.
A particularly desirable feature is that the sheet is printed on laid paper, with the characteristic laid lines clearly visible when examined closely. The printing quality, paper, and official printer's imprint are consistent with mid-19th-century British patent and government publications.
Measurements:
Approximately 22" x 14" (see photographs).
Condition:
Very good antique condition overall. Light age toning and minor handling wear consistent with age. No major tears, repairs, or significant losses observed. Please review all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the description.
