Designed in the tradition of Southwestern Zuni fetish carvings, the bear features a striking turquoise stone eye and a gemstone/bead prayer bundle securely attached to its back. The top is beautifully accented with authentic feather and gemstone detailing. Because it was created using the traditional Western Raku firing method - where the glowing red-hot ceramic is pulled from the kiln and placed into an oxygen-starved reduction pit - the glaze is entirely unique. It features mesmerizing iridescent shifts of metallic copper, deep violet, midnight blue and charcoal.
