How charming is this pairing – a rich leather buckle frame showcasing an original 1910 “Butterfly Girl” multi-view Port Huron postcard!
• Style / period:
- Frame: vintage western / saddle-style leather buckle frame, likely late 20th century.
- Postcard: original c.1910 Edwardian “Greetings from Port Huron, Mich.” butterfly girl multi-view, with tiny images of local landmarks (Steamer Tashmoo on St. Clair River, City Hall, Gratiot Light St. Clair River lighthouse, Huron Ave., etc.).
• Materials:
- Frame in brown leather over wood with ornate silver-tone buckle hardware and corner ornaments.
- Standard-size printed postcard on cardstock, postmarked 1910 and written on reverse; “Souvenir Post Card Co. New York, Made in Germany” along side edge.
• Color:
- Deep chocolate brown leather with warm metallic hardware.
- Postcard with yellow and teal butterfly wings, black & white views, and soft age-toned background.
• Size:
- Overall frame approx. 8" wide x 6" high.
- Photo/postcard opening approx. 5.5" x 3.5" (standard postcard size).
- Easel back for tabletop display plus small hanger for wall display.
• Condition:
- Frame is in very good vintage condition with light surface wear and a few small marks / punctures to the leather at upper right, plus mild patina to metal hardware – all consistent with gentle use.
- Postcard shows expected antique wear: light soiling/foxing, corner wear, postal cancel ink and handwriting on the back; no major tears noted.
