Antique Platinum European Cut Diamond Engagement Ring & Custom Diamond Band

A gorgeous and very sparkly Lady's antique (c.1900-1925) platinum engagement ring with Old European-cut center marquise diamond. Diamond is framed with 4 bezel-set marquise diamonds and 2 baguettes, each accented with milgrain detail. Shank is plain. Hallmark 10% IRID PLAT located inside first third of shank. Purchased in 1996. Previous owner/s history or other provenance unknown. Ring shows moderate wear but no significant damage of note. This beautiful engagement ring is complimented by a lovely, hand-fabricated vintage (c.1996) platinum wedding band channel-set with 7 round diamonds accented by 2 baguette diamonds, all in a milgrain setting. Shank is hallmarked on the first inside quarter with the artist’s name (illegible with loupe) and PLAT. Band was designed to match engagement ring above by S. Barry (Benigno). Both rings are Size 4.25, and could be sized by a fine jeweler. Please read last appraisal I had done…diamonds are near colorless, which with the white platinum gives this set a beautiful, overall white sparkle that’s truly breathtaking and so hard to see in a photo.
