Vintage "El Gaucho Argentino" 20-Matchbox Presentation Set – Rare Luxury Edition Up for sale is a highly collectible, vintage "El Gaucho Argentino" matchbox presentation box set. Manufactured in Argentina by the prestigious Compañía General de Fósforos Sud Americana S.A., this is the rare, expanded 20-box luxury display set—highly sought after compared to the smaller 10 or 12-box variants. Exquisite Artwork: Features 20 unique, vibrant illustrations of Argentine gaucho life, regional attire, traditional tools, and horsemanship by famed costumbrista artist Don Enrique Rapela. Historic Poetry: The inside lid features the iconic excerpted quote from José Hernández's epic masterpiece poem, *Martín Fierro*. Authenticity: 100% original mid-century Argentine manufacture. Great vintage condition. The structural integrity of the outer display box and inner tray is great, with beautiful color retention on the lid graphics. Minor edge wear, soiled spots(due to storage, that could probably be removed if properly cleaned) and some tears on hinge lid, consistent with age (see photos). Matchboxes: All 20 physical matchboxes are present in the tray with vibrant, clean cover illustrations. All of the boxes striker strips have warped, due to age(see photos). Contents: 19 of the 20 matchboxes are 100% complete with their original, un-struck vintage wooden matches. Exactly one box is structurally complete but missing its internal matches and tray. No modern replacements have been added.
