Vintage "Wear-Right" mid-length gauntlet evening gloves manufactured in Western Germany, dating from the 1950s. They are crafted from premium double-woven cotton (often referred to historically as “shrunk cotton" or "simplex fabric"), giving them a soft, matte finish with structural durability. The standout feature is the elegant tone-on-tone raised feather embroidery accentuating the forearm, delicately accented with small faux-pearl beads at the centers. During the mid-century era, Wear-Right was one of the most prominent American glove importers, famous for marketing their products with the slogan "Wear-Right Gloves Please!" Post-WWII, the company heavily outsourced its high-end fabric glove production to skilled textile manufacturers in West Germany, which was globally renowned for its precise stitching and embroidery work.
