This is a vintage New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI) patch, often associated with the US Army National Guard. Original issue; Approx. early 1980s.
The emblem features a black bucking bronco against a yellow field, with a red Zia sun symbol and the letters "NMMI".
Similar patches have been identified from both World War II and Cold War eras
