Absolutely beautiful late 1930’s -early 1940’s sterling silver floral spray brooch by Harry Iskin. Unfortunately the makers mark on the cartouche has faded and is gone. It is definitely his work and it is definitely sterling silver. Large purplish pink glass in the middle with faceted smaller glass stones on the side. It’s large about 3” x 3”. In great vintage condition.
Harry Iskin was a London-born jeweler who established his manufacturing company in Philadelphia in 1930. Famous for his high-quality gold-filled and sterling silver costume pieces, his jewelry is highly collectible today due to its intricate "Retro" and Art Deco floral designs. Born in London in 1886 to Russian emigrants, Iskin immigrated to the United States in 1908 and initially worked as a skilled jewelry engraver in Philadelphia.
