Vintage Florence Leather School / Scuola Del Cuoio Black Woven Leather Briefcase

Utterly gorgeous vintage Florence Leather School / Scuola Del Cuoio black woven leather briefcase with gold tone hardware, functional push lock closure with the original key, leather lining, two main interior compartments with a zip pocket divider, an additional smaller internal zip pocket, braided leather detail handle, and removable shoulder/crossbody strap. The leather is extremely soft - I believe it’s lambskin. The briefcase has soft expandable sides and base, so in the photos showing the bottom and sides I’ve placed some items within it so the leather is more visible. When empty, that leather folds in to lay more flatly. There’s a set of initials pressed into the leather on the interior side of the flap near the closure hardware that read PWR. Gently used, with just a few small signs of wear - a small nick in the leather at the base, a couple of loose stitches on the detachable strap, and one of the four places where the handle attaches to the bag shows wear to the leather, with a slight gap between the leather and the bottom of the metal prong above. Originally set up in partnership between Franciscan friars and Florentine artisans to provide career training to children orphaned by WWII, the Florence Leather School has since become a destination for supremely high-quality Italian leather goods - all of which are handcrafted by master artisans - while it continues to operate as a school within the monastery.
