Fall in love with this vintage tea towel, titled "Instruments of Yesteryear," was produced by Stevens Linen Associates in 1977. It illustrates a variety of historical musical instruments from 16th–18th century Europe and Asia, including: Panpipes & Ocarina: Ancient wind instruments. Baroque Recorder & Crum Horn: Common Renaissance and Baroque woodwinds. Kit (or Pochette): A small, narrow pocket violin used by dancing masters. Zither & Sho: Stringed and reed instruments from European and Asian traditions. Basset Horn & Cornett: Early woodwind and brass-family precursors. Cream background with blue border and colorful instrument prints in red, yellow, blue and brown. Decorative and collectible. Great for music lovers or vintage decor. Condition: Gently used with minimal signs of wear. Offers are always welcome. Please check out my other listings to bundle and save. Stevens Linen Company History: Formed in 1846 in Dudley, Massachusetts, Stevens Linen was the first linen textile mill in the United States. It was founded by Henry Hale Stevens. Product Evolution: While the mill produced various goods, it became particularly famous for its tea towels introduced in 1954. Design Context: This towel belongs to a genre of educational and decorative linen wall hangings and kitchen textiles produced mid-to-late 20th century. Similar music-themed towels from this era are often listed as vintage items from the 1960s or 1970s.
