I purchased this personally probably in 1972 or 1973. The navette/marquise-shaped open bezel setting with four-prong round stone is quintessentially 1950s–1960s retro style. The deep raspberry-red faceted stone is consistent with either a natural ruby or synthetic corundum ruby — both were used in 10K gold rings of this era. Size is 5.25-5.5 Stone tests positive on thermal diamond tester — confirming genuine corundum (ruby), not glass or simulant. Natural vs. synthetic status unverified — buyer may wish to have gemologically tested. Priced accordingly.
