Antique Gilchrist No. 31 Ice Cream Scoop - Wood Handle Soda Fountain Tool 1915
This is an authentic antique Gilchrist No. 31 "disher", one of the most successful and iconic mechanical ice cream scoop designs in history.
It features a round, nickel-plated brass bowl and a characteristic turned wooden handle.
Functionality: The mechanical thumb-lever and internal sweeper arm are fully functional, moving smoothly to release perfect scoops of ice cream.
Dimensions: Approximately 10.5 to 11 inches in total length with a scoop diameter typically around 2 to 2.5 inches.
Year Made: The No. 31 model was patented in 1915 and produced between 1915 and 1931 before Gilchrist merged with Hamilton Beach.
Condition Note: The scoop is in good antique working condition. As noted and shown in the photographs, there is a visible crack in the wooden handle, which is common for pieces of this age but does not prevent the tool from operating.
