WHITE Vintage Automatic Decorator Attachment Decorative Stitches Sewing Machine

White Automatic Decorator, a vintage sewing machine attachment used to create zigzag and decorative stitches on straight-stitch machines. It functions by moving the entire unit back and forth as it sews, effectively adding zigzag and hemming capabilities to a vintage straight-stitch machine. The top dial is used to select from various built-in stitch patterns, such as different types of zigzags. Levers on the attachment allow the user to change the stitch length and width. The unit attaches to the machine where the presser foot normally goes. It features a fork arm that typically hooks onto the needle bar, syncing its movement with the machine's operation to create the decorative patterns. PLEASE NOTE: This has not been tested on a sewing machine but it was my mother's and I am sure she would not have kept it if it did not work. She was a master at sewing and she used a Singer sewing machine in the 1970s for many years but she may have had a White brand machine previously in the 1960s. There is also a piece of fabric I found in the box that my mother used to sample the different decorative patterns. Comes in the original box with the original instruction booklet. There are some marks on the bottom of the unit and in the bottom of the box (please see photos). Please see the photos for approximate measurements.
