I’m sure this will make no sense to you but the earring appears very thin. Do you think it could take heat by a jewelers torch to add a jump ring? Decades ago a “Ray” in the Bahamas ate one off my ankle while we were feeding them. It was a fav of my daughters. It surely looks like this one but was more solid.

@debbyjones717 Hi, that’s such a good idea! This piece is very thin, so I would be afraid the enamel could be damaged with a torch. This brand did make a lot of other styles of gold jewelry with a ladybug, some of the other styles might have a sturdier back.
