WANTED BY VINTAGE HERMES SCARF COLLECTORS!
VERY RARE ORIGINAL HUGO GYRKAR "LES BESCANES" Silk Scarf.
50-Year-Old COLLECTOR'S SCARF, FROM 1973/74 issue in PRISTINE CONDITION.
Hugo Grygkar not only designed the very first carré for Hermès in 1937...he also became Hermès’ most prolific artist. His portrait of the Belle Époque era in Paris was captured in 1953 with "Cycles." A year later, he released a more detailed depiction of the era with "Les Bècanes." The design quickly became popular and continues to be highly sought after by collectors for its rarity and timeless charm.
Most of the 90cm designs available today are from the 1990 or 2003 reissues The "Les Becanes" Hermès scarf offered here is from the 1973/1974 edition. That is precisely what makes this scarf so rare and special. The care tag reveals this scarf dates from the 1970s.
For five decades, it has been well-cared for and preserved almost as new. In 2026, it made its way in pristine condition to the U.S. from Japan and is offered to vintage Hermés collectors here. Over a half-century old, this exquisite scarf has somehow remained in frozen in time.
Scarf is silk twill with hand-rolled edges.
Made in France.
100% silk.
