Artisan-Made Freshwater Pearl Swarovski Crystals Necklace W/Vintage Etui Pendant

Such a unique necklace! The chain is composed of 5mm Swarovski crystals, 3mm to 4mm cream colored and gold colored vintage rice pearls, separated by 2mm clear glass seed beads. The necklace closes with a 14K gold-filled magnetic clasp. The pendant is a vintage, German etui, made of brass and enamel, which holds a brass thimble and wooden thread holder. Etuis were produced in the early-to-mid 20th century and typically made of metal with enamel, designed to look like a nut or egg. Popular in the 17th to 19th centuries, these decorative, often cylindrical, cases were carried in pockets or attached to a belt via a chatelaine, used to carry everyday essentials such as thimbles, tweezers, or bodkins.
