You are purchasing an Antique early Walt Disney Productions Mickey Mouse stoneware cookie jar pre-war painted production stoneware pottery cookie jar. This exceptional piece represents Disney’s earliest era of licensed household goods, produced before mass-market decals and cost-cutting manufacturing reshaped character merchandising. Crafted in heavy stoneware and finished with hand-applied cold paint, the jar features a charming early depiction of Mickey Mouse with period-correct proportions, expressive eyes, and vibrant primary colors. The decoration was applied after firing — a labor-intensive process that resulted in brilliant color but made these pieces highly vulnerable to wear. As a result, surviving examples with original paint are scarce. The underside bears the impressed “© Walt Disney Prod” mark, a hallmark of Disney’s earliest licensed wares and a clear indicator of pre-war production. There is a crack on the side of the jar.
