Start by removing the dust and dirt by using a soft brush or a damp cloth. Do this as often as needed. We recommend following this with a thin coat of a quality leather conditioner every 1-2 months. Conditioning your leather will keep it soft and supple and help to prevent drying and cracking. In our stores, we carry the JB Dillon Leather Enhancement Cream. On certain types of leathers, such as distressed or oil tanned, conditioners can darken the color. We suggest testing a small hidden area of the boot and letting the conditioner dry, before applying to the entire boot. For smooth leather boots, if you like your boots to have a bit of a shine, after conditioning you can apply a thin coat of cream polish in a matching color. Then, buff off.
