VTG African Rare Vintage Bronze Benin Tiger/Warthog Sculpture

This a rare vintage bronze sculpture from Benin tribe in Africa. The intricate details and craftmanship of this piece showcase the artistic skill of the tribe. The material used is a heavy bronze, adding to durability of the sculpture. Had an expert at Christie's Auction (See picture above) house to verified that sculpture was truly a Benin and was confirmed it is. Did not get a certificate and was not able to tell the age, but stated it is old/vintage. Animal is either a warthog or a tiger with its meal in its mouth. Made in Nigeria. Some cosmetic wear due to age. Still some dirt inside mouth, it came this way, can be cleaned. Very detailed from head to the whiskers, and beautiful kriss kross pattern on back. Approximately 8" tall and 14" long. These sculptures were once only made for Kings, but now in modern times the Benin became available for purchase.
