176 Year Old Antique Godey's Jewelry Box From 1845!

This is a beautiful Victorian antique jewelry box is 176 years old! Isn’t that amazing! There are 3 compartments inside. On the bottom inside is glass. There is a mirror under the lid. It’s almost like a secret box because there is no knob to lift up the top, never has been. There is glass on the top over the picture. It is also stamped 1845 on the inside. I don’t know if this was hand made? I cannot find anything to compare it too. You would never even know that it opened up by looking at it. It’s is amazing condition considering the age! 10 1/2” X 8 3/4” X 2 1/4” Tall Godey's Lady's Book, alternatively known as Godey's Magazine and Lady's Book, was an American women's magazine that was published in Philadelphia from 1830 to 1896. It was the most widely circulated magazine in the period before the Civil War. Its circulation rose from 70,000 in the 1840s to 150,000 in 1860. In the 1860s Godey's considered itself the "queen of monthlies". After several changes, it ceased publication in 1896.
