Master Potter David Bejarano totally hand crafted this gorgeous olla - vase depicting a fabulous deer, buck, doe with birds and cactus - desert design all around this amazing piece. As with all of David's pieces he is showing a tribute to the desert and nature. Techniques used are sgraffito and design is etched into the piece. You can always spot David's designs as he has unique technique that is shown in every piece he designs.
David lives in the village of Mata Ortiz in Northern Mexico, along with his wife who is also a very talented potter.
We had the pleasure to visit with both of them several times on our last visit to the village.
