It just came untied and I wasn't able to retie it since it's so short. The leather is woven through the bag pretty tight and hasn't affected the strength of the handle.

I added a couple more images to show it better. It probably would be easier to glue that piece instead out trying to tie it, but I didn't want to do that since I'm selling it. Thanks for your interest!
