Vintage 1960s/70s Decoupaged Wooden Box Purse - Whimsical Children Art
Product Details:
This is a beautiful example of the highly collectible mid-century "storybox" purses. It features a stunning, multi-sided decoupage design of children in Victorian-style dress playing with rolling hoops and walking pets.
Note for Collectors: You may see similar items listed as "Judith Prothrombin," though these whimsical wood boxes are most famously attributed to the artist Judith MerriL.
* Design: Octagonal contoured wood body with a high-gloss lacquer finish.
* Art Style: "Dolly Dingle" or Kate Greenaway-inspired childrens park scene.
* Hardware: Features a double-ball brass latch and a sturdy white acrylic top handle
Condition:
This piece is in excellent vintage condition. The decoupage is vibrant with no major peeling. There is light, age-appropriate wear to the gold-tone metal and some very minor wear on the wooden corners. Please see all photos for details.
