Unfortunately, such a possibility does indeed exist. I even had a personal experience with this: I bought a Balenciaga cap here for $100, but when I received it, it turned out to be a replica from China worth just $10—even though the seller claimed it was an original. Moreover, the label on this fake even stated: "Made in Italy." That is precisely why I am asking. I ended up having to send it back.
