Antique Victorian Bohemian Garnet Cluster Brooch, c1870s–1880s

A tiered domed cluster brooch set throughout with deep red faceted Bohemian garnets, each stone individually prong-set in gold-tone metal. The design builds from an outer ring of smaller stones through a middle tier to a large central stone, creating a richly layered effect with real depth and presence. The stones have good transparency and glow a vivid red in light. Approximately 30mm in diameter. Shows the patina and wear consistent with age. Pin mechanism intact and functional. A well-made and wearable example of antique garnet jewellery!
