Stunning antique metal mesh coin purse, dating from the late Victorian to Art Nouveau era (circa 1890–1920). This "chatelaine" style bag features a delicate, chainmail body and a detailed frame. Intricate engraved scrollwork on the brass-tone frame. Hand-painted/enameled pink and blue design on the mesh. Traditional "kiss-lock" clasp that snaps securely shut. Scalloped bottom edge for added vintage flair. Beautiful vintage condition. The mesh is intact with no holes, and the clasp is functional. Dimensions: Width: 3", Height: 3.5" (including clasp) There is an S mark on the inside (see photo) that indicates it could be German Silver or a maker's mark rather than a guarantee of silver.
