My original painting of this print is currently featured in the Cherokee Trail of Tears art show in Tahlequah Oklahoma. Ghost Dance Shirt” is a fine art print of the original acrylic painting. “My Ghost Dance Shirt” was inspired by the historical spiritual movement that came about during the brutality and relocating of Native American people in the late 19th century. This dance was believed to bring back the traditions, heritage and dead ancestors that have been destroyed by assimilation, slavery and famine. Dancers wore clothing with symbols painted often showing birds ascending to heaven. Artwork is printed on museum quality fine art paper, and hand signed in my small studio in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
