Hand-Carved Wooden Keepsake Box with Dovetail Corners, Scenic Inlay and Mirror

A vintage hand-carved wooden keepsake or jewelry box. Features a scenic inlay on the lid. The inlay is dark in color and appears to be a farm scene with lots of dark greenery. The wood has detailed engraving on the lid and front of the box. Popular in the 1950s. No brand or maker indicated. The varnish is coming off of the brown wood finish in places and cracked in others. The scenic inlay has some chipping on the left side and the rest shows signs that it might be wearing thin. There are surface scratches. The handle is not level on one end but is sturdy. There is a crack in the back outside of the lid approximately 8 1/2 inches long. The inside is dull unfinished wood. The henge in the lid is there but not attached to the side. The outside henges have rusting but function appropriately. There is mirror patina, a classic sign of aging and didn’t look any different after cleaning. Approximately 11 3/4 inches long, including handles, approximately 6 1/2 inches wide, including handle and henges. The inside measure measurement, approximately 10” x 5” and stands approximately 3 1/2 inches tall. Sold as is. The box itself is sturdy with intact dovetailed corners.
