“SPEAKING OF SPRING" -
From the painter …
“This scene was painted while I lived in Toronto. As confining as the city seems to be me now, I still find pleasure in walking the backstreets and observing lifestyles. "Neighbour" not only means someone next door, it can mean someone upstairs or downstairs!
My own little apartment was an oasis in the midst of city life. Cabbagetown was a short bike ride away, and it became a focal point for many of my city scapes.
It was always fun to discover that neighbours are the same everywhere ... in passing, we always talk about the weather, and it’s always a joy to speak of spring.”
Note this is a vintage print. Beautiful matte and simple wood frame. Easily touched up with a sharpie if desired. Frame has some paint chipping, consistent with age. Hanging mechanism ( picture wire) has been newly added.
Romance was born in Hamburg, New York in 1951. She moved to Canada in 1969 to attend Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario, where she received a degree in design and illustration.
