This sterling silver brooch is a mid-century twist on the classic Aztec sun stone design (Piedra del Sol). The brooch also has a pendant loop so it can worn as a necklace. The brooch is stamped "925 TAXCO MEXICA ADO" & "3". This is the mark of Alberto Diaz Ocampo of Taxco. The "Eagle 3" mark on jewelry indicates the item was produced in Taxco, Mexico, between roughly 1948 and 1978.
