This intriguing vintage wooden box contains a set of over 48 tiny glass vials, each sealed with cork and individually numbered with matching paper labels. The vials sit snugly in a slotted insert within the case. Its original purpose is uncertain — it may have been used as either a watchmaker’s parts organizer or a fragrance, apothecary, or homeopathic sample set — but its craftsmanship and preserved state make it a true collector's item.
🕰️ As a watchmaker’s kit:
The vials may have stored micro screws, gears, springs, oils, or other horological components, organized for use in fine watch repair or restoration work.
🌿 As a perfume/apothecary set:
Alternatively, it resembles essential oil sample boxes or apothecary training kits, often used to store fragrance ingredients or homeopathic remedies.
Era: Estimated mid-20th century
Includes: Over 50 small corked glass vials, most numbered 147
Box: Hinged wood case with clasp and brass insert
Approx. Dimensions: 2" x 6.25" x 6.25"
Markings: Vials bear a shield-style logo and the letters “LIC” (Larsen Importing Co.)
Condition: Good vintage condition — light exterior wear to box, minor crack at corner; vials intact. One vial is slightly smaller than the rest.
🎁 A great addition to any collection of horology tools, perfume memorabilia, or cabinet of curiosities.
