Beautiful hand painted 3 quart size set of Mexican folk art pottery straight from Tonala — the artisan ceramics capital of Jalisco. - Signed "Mexico Tonala" with artist initials GC hand-painted on body - Vintage 1970s–80s - Large stoneware jug: 13"H x 7"W, holds 96 oz (3 quarts / 0.75 gallon) - Ceramic cup/mug: 5.5"H x 3"W, holds 12 oz - Set weight: 3 lbs unboxed - Gray base glaze with hand-painted decoration in dark blue, light blue, black, and beige - Motifs include: agave leaves, ferns, blue bird, prickly pear cactus, abstract fan/starburst patterns - Jug bottom is slightly uneven — typical of handmade folk pottery - Cup has minor clay imperfection on interior, slightly wobbly base, and unglazed top rim — all consistent with handmade character - No chips, no cracks noted CONDITION: Very good vintage condition with no distress.
