Elegant silver carousel horse figurine. Intricate detailing with floral accents. Perfect for decor or collection. Rare Wallace Silversmiths Silverplate Carousel Horse with Blue Crystals Sankyo Music BoxManufactured by Wallace Silversmiths this piece appears in excellent condition, with all rhinestones intact and very little wear to the silverplating. It is ornately detailed with roses and ribbons, with sparkling sapphire blue crystal rhinestones on its bridle and neck collar. Inside the base is a music box, made by Sankyo, that when wound up is supposed to play the tune "MY FAVORITE THINGS" from the famous hit musical, My Fair Lady, while the horse gently rotates in a circle.HOWEVER THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE MUSIC BOX. I do not know anything about music boxes so do not have a clue if this may be easily fixed or if the entire music bx would need replacing. It will play for a turn or two at times, but then the horse spins wildly out of control. Like it unwinds all at once.The short time the music plays it doesn't sound bad. I don't know if this has been caused by its being wound too tightly in the past or a stripped gear. I found this at an estate sale and it is an exceptionally lovely piece, even without the music box. SO PLEASE WHEN MAKING YOUR PURCHASE BUY IT AS A DISPLAY PIECE ONLY. If you can get it working then that would only be an added bonus.Stands 7 3/4 tall x 4 3/4" base diameter.Quite heavy, this piece weighs right at 2 lbs.
