Fabulous vintage party dress, likely made in the late 40s or early 50s. Made from black taffeta, it features a black scalloped lace hem with lace inserts at the chest and back - so chic! It's got darts at the bodice , a gathered dropped waist and bow details at the shoulder tops, giving it a truly elegant silhouette and fit! It fastens with a metal zipper under the wearer's left arm and has a grosgrain ribbon at the front skirt bottom (photo 5). No size tag; fits like a modern S/M. Approximate measurements, taken flat and doubled where appropriate: shoulders - 15.5in, bust - 36in, waist - 26.5in, hips - full, shoulder to hem - 56in. Preowned/vintage (60+ years old) with some signs of use and prior wear: some spots/marks to interior which cannot be seen when worn; some loose threads at the lace portions (most hard to see unless closely inspecting). This dress has been in storage for more than 30 years and would benefit from a professional dry clean and press.
