This is a very beautiful and interesting sterling silver and vibrant blue enameled jewelry set (Demi parure), consisting of an oval brooch and matching earrings. They depict the Siam goddess of lighting (Mekkala) and god of thunder (Ramasoon).
* More Info: “(Mekkala) is the Siamese (Thai) goddess of lightning and the keeper of the waters. She is often paired with Ramasoon, the thunder god. She is often shown fleeing with her sparkling, blinding crystal, chased by Ramasoon, which results in the phenomenon of lightning and thunder. Frequently featured in vintage sterling silver and black enamel (nielloware) brooches, necklaces, and earrings dating from the 1930s-1950s. These pieces are often marked "SIAM STERLING" and are highly collectible items representing Thai mythology.”
