Rare Antique Guatemalan Chachal Necklace

One-of-a-kind, intricately beaded two-strand Mayan artisan necklace from Guatemala. There’s a peacock and a fish, filigree balls, red Cornaline d' Aleppo ("white heart") trade beads, ornate metalwork, and an antique blue jade/jadeite center stone. The use of light blue and white beads in a necklace this style is unique. The metal is not marked but the necklace may contain some silver. The pieces do not stick to a magnet and can be brightened with a silver polishing cloth or gentle silver cleaner like Goddard’s. Purchased 40+ years ago in Antigua, Guatemala and worn only a few times. Normal signs of age add to the authenticity.
