Vintage Art Deco Sterling Silver Filigree Hinged Bangle Bracelet with The Order of the Eastern Star (OES) Emblem / Masonic Interest / FATAL FATAL Meaning: The letters F-A-T-A-L encircle the star’s central pentagon, standing for “Fairest Among Thousands, Altogether Lovely”, a phrase from the Song of Solomon (5:10, 6:1 in some interpretations) used in rituals to emphasize the moral purity and beauty of the order’s teachings. This is kept confidential and revealed only to initiated members. The bracelet marked "OB STERLING", Ostby & Barton, a very successful jewelry firm in Providence, Rhode Island, founded in 1879. Firms owner Mr.Ostby perished on the Titanic in 1912. Despite the 1912 catastrophe, Ostby and Barton Co. continued to produce jewelry into the 1950s. The company was well-known for their emblem jewelry lines. Bracelet is 0.75" wide, it's decorated with beautiful floral filigree and bezel set purple rhinestone. Outside circumference is 7.5" Overall very good pre-owned condition with signs of metal aging, missing safety chain. The cover image is a styling illustration and does not show the actual product. You can find the exact measurements and condition details in the product description.
