Directly from France, an actual area: Challes-les-Eaux is a commune in the Savoie dept of SE France, renowned for its thermal springs and luxury spa hotels. Custom signed in gold for a boutique/hotel in the area. No signature / stamp on the bottom. Poubelle means "trash can" or "waste bin", most likely meant to be used as a tabletop crumb bin or small vanity waste jar for items like cotton swabs. Purchased at an estate sale from a woman whose mother lived in France for many years prior to relocating to the States. Absolutely gorgeous condition!
