Hi, this is a German brand. A size 42 is a smaller 12 or a generous 10 US.

@suzschneider62 I am so so sorry for the super late response !!! :( I just measured and the waist measures at 29" length measures at 24 ". I hope this helps it is a beautiful classic skirt. no obvious flaws found at all. I inspected it very thoroughly!
