GAP Silk Knit Striped Balaclava Scarf Wrap

I've come across a few of these scarves that are partially sewn on one side and I never know what to do with them. How do you wear it? What is it called? Please enlighten me in the comments. Anyway, this item is from GAP and is 75% silk and 25% cotton. Soft and lightweight knit with a nice drape. Lovely soft pastel colors in stripe pattern. No flaws. No holes, pulls, runs, stains, pet hair, or odor.
