Stunning 1900s Victorian still life pink roses oil painting. This antique oil painting is absolutely gorgeous! The wood and gesso frame is also gorgeous! 🌸Not open to offers This Victorian still life is in perfect shabby condition. This has been painted on board, not canvas. There is no signature. The patina of this oil painting is authentically old, it’s not been made to look old, it just is. There are brush lines/strokes, texture, and some cracking in the paint. It’s just incredible, it really is. There is a matte clear coat that appears to have possibly been painted over this as there is no flaking paint. This is one of the most beautiful shabby roses still life paintings I’ve ever seen. Did I already mention it’s perfection… The wood and gesso frame is lovliness. The patina on this is gorgeous…the chippiness of the frame is perfection. The frame was painted at some point, the paint appears to be quite old. You can see bits of gold peeking through the paint. The back has the original eyelet hooks and wire. You may want to chang this, or leave it. It does currently work, it’s not perfect and may need a bit of reinforcing, just to make sure it’s secure. There are numerous chips and cracked paint on the frame, it’s part of the patina and the look. The paint is old, this is not something that was recently painted.
