The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Flowering Myrtle Leaf Necklace is made of 14K gold overlay with gray cultured freshwater pearls, based on actual clippings from the Met Cloister’s gardens. The Greeks associated myrtle with Aphrodite, the goddess of love, and wove it into bridal garlands, a tradition that continues today.
