This lot includes a total of 25 quilt blocks, each measuring approximately 11.5” x 11.5”. Two rows of five blocks (10 blocks total) have already been hand sewn together by the original maker, with 15 additional loose blocks ready for final layout and completion.
If assembled into a 5 x 5 arrangement, the finished quilt would measure approximately 57.5” x 57.5”, a perfect throw or lap size.
Entirely hand pieced• Made from very lightweight, early cotton fabrics• Many fabrics appear to be repurposed shirtings, dresses, and household textiles• Cotton is thin and semi-translucent when held to light — characteristic of early 20th century fabrics• Beautiful Depression-era palette of cream, navy, brown, burgundy, plaids, and small prints
Pattern:Six-point star/flower mosaic blocks set within a hexagon-style layout.
Condition:Unfinished quilt project. Age-appropriate wear, light wrinkling, and minor irregularities consistent with handwork and long-term storage. No modern machine stitching or repairs observed. There are a few small discoloration spots on a few of the quilt blocks as seen in last photo
Era: Circa 1920s–1930s (Depression era)• Block size: approx. 11.5” square• Total blocks: 25• Two assembled strips (5 blocks each)• Estimated finished size: approx. 57.5” x 57.5”
